Quirky, Fun and Alternative Things To Do In London

Regularly I find myself asked for tips of things to do in London, many Londoners surprised by the quantity of new and cool things to see and do (and occasionally, drink) that are popping up across the capital. Most things include drink now I think about it.

It’s certainly true that there’s no end of London attractions to tick off; the Natural History Museum, Tower of London and Madame Tussauds but to name a few, but I figure you haven’t clicked on this expectantly to be presented with things you could easily find in Auntie Gloria’s well-thumbed guidebook to London. No, you want your snazzy socks blown off, the kind of hipster alternative hangouts that you see on your slightly-cooler friend’s Instagram feed – well, look no further you lucky devil, here’s my alternative list of top things to do in London!

Urban Dhaba, Milton Keynes – Review

I’m a little late coming to this one and those of us who follow the Milton Keynes dining scene know that there have been a few blog reviews of Urban already from some of our very own MK blogging stalwarts Jo and LouBou. But when I hear of a new Indian restaurant promising ‘authentic’ recipes with a great vibe and better flavour, then my interest is peaked. So, after the dust had settled from the initial fanfare and launch, Mrs P and I dropped in on Urban Dhaba late one evening to see what all the fuss was about.

The more observant of you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently. This is because on top of some additional work pressures, its actually bloody hard planning to get round 28 countries in 2 years! It’s taken some serious scheduling and after Trip 1 (Scotland) and Trip 2 (Ireland)  Trip 3 sees the Family P getting ourselves over to Croatia and Slovenia. The truth is that neither of these were places originally anywhere near the top of our ‘ooh, that looks interesting’ list. In fact, I would go so far as to say that we actively tried to reduce our time here but found ourselves committed to a week due to school holidays and the ever increasing cost of leaving things too late.

But.

You know that time when Donald Trump said that he was going to build a real, actual non-imaginary wall across the entire US Southern border, and get Mexico to pay for it, and this was an amazing idea, and everyone would say that he is the best and kindest and most humble President/Humanitarian Saviour the world has ever seen*? Yeah, we were as wrong as that.
